The Vision

To change the education system and ground it in Indian ethos to sustainably transform India into an equitable and vibrant knowledge society. We aim to provide high-quality education and to make India a global knowledge superpower.

Let's instill among learners a deep-rooted pride in being Indian, not only in thought but also in spirit, intellect, and deeds.

Our motivation is to develop knowledge, skills, values, and dispositions that support responsible commitment to human rights, sustainable development and living, and global wellbeing to reflect a truly global citizen.

The Objective

Education must build character. It must enable learners to be ethical, rational, compassionate, and caring. It must prepare them for gainful, fulfilling employment.

Education must develop the 'foundational capacities' of literacy, numeracy, and higher-order cognitive capacities, such as critical thinking, problem-solving, social, ethical, emotional, and dispositions. Our highest priority is to achieve foundational literacy and numeracy for all students by Grade-3.

By revising and revamping all aspects of the education structure, regulation & governance, we will create a new system aligned with aspirations of 21st-century education while preserving our heritage—all per UNs Sustainable Development Goal No 4.

The Fundamental Principles

  • Promote synergetic, multidisciplinary, holistic development in academic and non-academic spheres.
  • Promote ethics and human values like empathy, respect, cleanliness, scientific temper, liberty, pluralism, equality, and justice.
  • Promote a total equity and inclusion policy that focuses on multilingualism, communication, cooperation, teamwork, and resilience by harboring a diverse and locally contextual environment.
  • Extensive use of technology in teaching and learning by laying down the groundwork for educational planning and management.
  • Recognize, identify and foster the individual capabilities of each student.
  • Extremely flexible learning trajectories and programs.
  • No hard separation between arts and science, curricular and co-curricular activities, and vocational and academic streams.
  • Increase emphasis on conceptual understanding, critical reasoning, and creative thinking.
  • Substantial investment in a robust, vibrant public education system by ensuring a regulatory framework that is transparent and resource-efficient.

NEP Karnataka

NEP 2020 is based on the Draft National Education Policy submitted by Dr. Kasturirangan and his committee. NEP 2020 replaces the 34-year-old National Policy on Education Consultations held from Gram Panchayaths to National level Draft NEP 2019.

Education System

School Education

Everyone should and will have universal access to education at all levels. We hope to attain Universal Foundational Literacy and Numeracy in all primary schools, identifying stage-wise targets and achievable goals by 2025. This will be achieved through an integrated high-quality Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) program.

NEP Internalization

The internationalization of higher education is more vital than ever. DTE is collaborating with Montgomery Area Community College (HACC), US. There will be Twinning Programs in Cyber Security and Travel and Tourism. Any diploma or associate degrees earned will be awarded for these accordingly.

Integration of Unified University and College Management System (UUCMS) will enable a secure platform for NEP. Digital Learning will be made more accessible and efficient using a Karnataka Learning Management System (LMS). Smart classrooms will be set up with high-speed internet. Tablets and PCs will also be provided to students to foster their technological growth.
